Delivering Top Level Customer Service

I'm Mark Skimming, I'm from Glasgow and I'm 30 years old.  I'm a married, father of two.  I have a two year old and a six month old and I perform what we call, life transformational dentistry. This can be treatments such as Dental Implants, Straight teeth and complete Smile Makeovers.

This was always the type of dentistry that I was interested in, even when I had just graduated from dental school.  To perform this level of dentistry I need to obtain more advanced skills, so I went to Manchester and Leeds Universities to study further. When I qualified I was actually the youngest person in the UK to ever achieve this level of qualification.

The extra training taught me how to complete these advanced dental treatments which I now perform each and every day at my practice, Dentistry on the Square in Glasgow. If you want to continue to practice the most high tech dentistry, you need to keep up with the times. Keep training, keep learning, after all technology doesn't stand still and wait for you.

You need to make sure you maintain and improve yourself and also your practice. There is no point learning the latest skills if you don’t have the tools needed for the job. You have to continue to invest in yourself, your team and your practice to ensure that you don’t fall behind. Falling behind is something that we are not prepared to do here at Dentistry on the Square.

Striving to be the best does not have to be limited to your dental skills and treatments, like dental implants. You also have to make sure that you deliver top levels of customer service as well.

“Recommend Dr Skimming And His Team To Everyone!

Everything very professional and well organised, I recommend this dentist to everyone. All personnel very kind and considered.

I find that in dentistry in the UK there was a fair bit of gap in the kind of quality of customer service that you'd be provided at a high end hotel, than that you'd find in your general dental practice, and I wanted to bring the two together.

You need to understand that many patients can tend to be very nervous about coming to see the dentist but when they first arrive, if we can bring that high end customer service and make them feel welcome, make them feel comfortable, I know it would make their experience an awful lot easier.  I’m happy to say we see that every day.

I am sure you will find each visit to our practice exceeds your expectations, not only in terms of your dental treatment but also in relation to your entire client experience.

Until next time

Mark

Next Level Dentistry Club

Introducing My Next Level Dentistry Club

Hello there, for those of you that don’t know me, my name is Mark Skimming, and I’m thirty years old and married.  I love to stay at home with my wife and two young kids, 6 months and 2 years old whenever I can.

To be honest though, outside of my family life I'm a bit of a dental geek.  I'm very much into my dentistry and very passionate about providing high quality dentistry for my patients.

In fact I've just completed my Masters in Advanced Restorative Dentistry. It's taken a number of years to obtain that qualification and because of this I've learned all the advanced cosmetic dental techniques such as restoring dentitions, restoring occlusion, and full rehabilitation.

Each day I perform these very complex and difficult treatments that a lot of other dentists may find extremely complicated and feel slightly out of their depth. So what I have decided to do is create my “Next Level Dentistry Club” so I’m there to lend a helping hand to dentists that don’t have the time or skill set to perform these more technical treatments. The help needed differs from dentist to dentist. It maybe the writing of a dental treatment plan, or mentoring through the club, or in a number of cases actually performing the treatment on their behalf.

Obviously there is no point in learning new skills if you don’t have the state of the art equipment to use them. So I have been revamping the practice as well as my own skills, and recent purchases were include a Cerec, 3D scanner and a Waterlase Gentle Laser.
"Me With The Cerac & Waterlase Gentle Laser"
I’m always striving to offer the highest quality service, not just to my patients, but to my peers as well. I’ve started regular mentoring classes now, where other dental professionals can come along to the practice for training and coaching, improving their clinical skills without the need to travel far.
My aim is to show them how to plan complex treatment plans involving dental implants for example and how to deliver Dentistry Without Fear, so the patient is completely at ease, fully informed and stress free.
I am now putting together a regular monthly newsletter that is sent to all my peers. It contains useful articles, my practice promises and treatment tip to help your patients. Each month the tip varies. I’ve spoken about dental implants and laser crown removal in recent months.
I’ll keep you updated over the coming months of the progress of the “Next level Dentistry Club” and any new training events we arrange.
Here’s to stress free dentistry
